A few days ago, I heard a though that caught my attention. I got the point but I forgot the exact words. Tonight I heard it again. And the thought mentions only fathers but I changed a little, so I could include both parents.
The thought is as follows:
When I was a child of 5 years old, I thought my parents were great geniuses.
Then I was an 18 years old adolescent and thought my parents were fools, that very often made things more complicated than they really were. Later I was an all grown up adult and I still thought they were old people that could not reason as I did because of their age.
Now, I’m older. I am 40 and something and thinking about some things in life I came to realize that although I didn’t see it, the true always stood before me:
My parent we’re always great geniuses.
But is it true??
Well, first let me clarify that I'm not 40 yet. (XD)
But many times, every step I take and every good or bad thing that happen to me shows me that my parents were right. They were taking me trough the right direction. And Often I didn’t follow them and I deviate from that way.
It seems like I’ll discover before my 40s that both of them were right.
Everything seems to indicate they really are.
After all, who wishes the happiness and well being of their children more than they do??
We should, we must take care, nurture and enjoy them while they are with us
When they are gone, that’s the only thing we’re going to have: our memories
